NOV.28, 2005 Dear Primos y Primas, Hope everyone had a blessed and great Thanksgiving Day for we all are so very grateful for Our Faiths, family, friends, and the great country we live in. We would all like to extend our prayers and sincere thoughts and deepest sympathy to those who lost lives during the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Some of our relatives and friends were affected.

 FACTS ABOUT THE ANGEL OF GOLIAD: Panchita Alvarez( our dearly beloved ancestor )performed so many acts of charity for the( Goliad )prisoners and in the end saved scores of lives, that as the men were being taken to their deaths, they shouted words of thanks. Because she knew their end, she sobbed uncontrollably.........from The Texan Revolution of 1836 by Roger Borroel IMPORTANT EVENTS: Our sincere sympathy and prayers to the family of Reynaldo Ruiz Alvarez, SR. from Corpus Christi, Texas who went to Our Lord on Oct. 23,2005 and also to the family of Omar Alvarez whose daughter-in-law, Christine Alvarez (wife of Mike Alvarez, Omar's son) who went to Our Lord on Sept. 2005.A big congrats to Michael and Dina Ramirez on their bundle of joy Michael Joshua. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ramirez all from San Antonio, Texas .. ....and a very Happy Birthday to our beautiful Hedy Lamar Armenia Alvarez from Corpus Christi, Texas..............and the latest on our famous cousin Rebecca Valadez who has just released her first Spanish single called "No Quiero Estar Sin Tu Amor". Rebecca is presently living in Los Angeles, California but will be doing a Radio Tour during the Holidays and hitting the Charts all over Texas. So stay tuned to your Radio and call the Radio Stations and request her song. Rebecca also attended a writer's convention in Canada.........We are happy to announce that Terri Lopez daughter of Norma Linda Alvarez Lopez from Katy, Texas has returned home to Texas. We wish her the best in her future plans. News around our state has been that Nora Rothwell from Round Rock, Texas has been traveling all over the states and Belize. She is just having too much fun since her retirement. Also, Joey Hernandez from California spent his Thanksgiving holidays with us Texans.......Please keep in your prayers Norma Linda Lopez daughter-in-law Shannon Lopez who will have been in surgery by now and Alicia Alvarez Juan Alvarez aunt from the King Ranch in Kingsville who is gravely ill. and of course our servicemen and women. May God Bless them all and keep them safe and bring them home soon.

..... A regular Officers meeting of the AOGDHP organization has not been set but as soon as one is planned we will inform everyone. HONORS AND RECOGNITION: On Oct. 8th at the 28th Piney Woods County Fair in Nacogdoches, Texas A.J. Huffman Smith the 6th Direct Descendant of the Angel who lives in Garrison, Texas won the Reserve Grand Champion Pig and Lamb Award. Also, Brandi Smith (A.J.'s sister) won Grand Joshua. Steve Ramirez ' son Josh Ramirez again has made the Principal's Honor Roll. We are most proud of our Alvarez descendants accomplishments and hope that they continue making us proud......Please continue to send your pictures, articles and stories to our webmaster Manuel Munoz.
