Angel of Goliad Descendants Historical Preservation

Hello, Primos    September has not only brought us the beginning of fall and the beginning of the Presidential Debates but the building up of our Down Memory Lane where the Alvarez kin are slowly but surely sharing their pictures and momentos for our Website. If you have not had the opportunity to look at this section of our webpage do so , you are in for a treat. WE are so looking forward to the approaching marriage of the Alvarez-Weber family, the birth of two more Alvarez kin: Arnold and Christine's first grandchild, and Robert Ramirez's third grandchild !  WE have also discovered two more  descendants of Panchita Alvarez: Liliana Longoria and Patricia Camacho Longoria  from the Rita Alvarez Quintanilla family whose parents were Matias Alvarez and Maria Felipa Mosqueda thanks to Diana Borja who so graciously gave us the information.  September also brought another Panchita Alvarez descendant into the military: Joseph Shokrian son of Rebecca Alvarez-Ramirez Shokrian who is now doing basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. He recently joined the Texas Army National Guard and has become a squad leader for his company. He is really enjoying his training. WE have also been informed that tragedy has struck the son of Nora Alvarez Rothwell whose home had an electrical fire and damaged his home. We thank God no one was hurt. Your prayers are asked so that he and his wife may recuperate fully their loss. On another note : Rudy Ramirez and his brothers: Joe, Louis , Robert and sister Becky are planning a Blessing on a marker that will be placed on a deceased brother who died in 1941 at the Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville Texas. Date is pending. WE hope all cousins can make it to the Blessing. Plans are still underway for the Alvarez-Angel of Goliad Reunion to be held in Goliad, Texas on April 3rd 2005. Your input is needed and volunteer help will be greatly appreciated. Please contact one of the officers. We are still in need o! f current phones, email addresses and addresses of all Alvarez kin. Please send them to Eustolio Longoria or one of the other officers. WE have a place to meet and hopefully by our November meeting in Spring Texas we will have more definite information. Membership dues are practically non-existent. We have not had luck in this area at all. Refer to the Membership section of our webpage. But never fear we never give up. Please send in any news to Manuel, or pictures and stories . WE are still waiting for information to put in our website. Please check out the Somos Primos magazine online for all current Hispanic news. October's issue or November's issue will have news on our approaching Reuion in Goliad. Please send in your news so that we can have more news for the October Newsletter issue of the AOGDHP.  Until next month.

Respectfully submitted,  Herlin Pineda and Rudy Garcia
