Unveiling of the life-size statute of the Angel of Goliad

To all Descendants of Francisca Alvarez (the Angel of Goliad)

Time is getting near for the unveiling and eveyone I have contacted are getting very excited about this event. I was contacted by Mr. Warzecha, Director of the Fort, he wanted to know, how will he recognize the Descendants of the Angel? So, Ray Alvarez, Becky Shokrian, Gloria Ramirez, Manuel & Belinda Munoz, myself came up with the idea of a badge and ribbon. Manuel designed and manufactured the badge and Gloria designed the ribbon..... It looks great..... you will be very proud to wear one.

The Direct Descendant's badge will be gold and white. The Honorary Descendant's Badge (the spouses), will be silver and white. To defray expenses on the badges, we will be asking for a $5.00 donation each. We are also asking for a $5.00 donation for the wreath. Any extra monies will go to the future Angel of Goliad Memorial Fund.

We only have 30 Direct Descendants Badges and 30 Honorary Badges this year, it will be first come, first serve. We hope to take orders for next year. We just don't know how many are going to attend the unveiling. I know Bert Alvarez is trying to get a R.S.V.P. by March 14th. If you have not R.S.V.P., do it now. Again, since there are so many Descendants of the Angel, you will have to tell your family members of this event.
