Unveiling of the Life size Statue of the Angel of Goliad

To all Descendants of Francisca Alvarez ( The Angel of Goliad ):
 

 We are planning an informal meeting of the Descendants of the Angel on Saturday March 27 at 5:00 P.M. in the office of Hon. Judge Harold Gleinser. His office address is 149 S. Courthouse Square (on the square). The number is 316-645-3337.

Our main topic will be to form the Angel of Goliad Family Historical Society. As in all structured organizations, we need to appoint members who are willing to serve as committee chairpersons. Please be thinking about where you or who can serve best. We must remember we will be representing the Angel and all of her descendants.

Proposed positions are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Family Historical Journalist, Family Photographer-Webmaster, Newsletter Editor, Membership Chairperson, Entertainment Chairperson and Chaplain. I feel these are basic requirements for a Historical Society.

The Goliad Rotary Club is sponsoring a light breakfast reception for the descendants of the Angel at the "La Bahia Restaurant" Sunday morning March 28, from 8:30 am to 9:45am. The restaurant is about one mile south of the fort on hwy.183/77. The phone number there is 361-645-3651.

We are looking forward to seeing each other at this historical event an be a part of history in the making.
