Angel of Goliad Descendants H.P.

Newly elected President of the AOGDHP Rudy Alvarez Ramirez said that twenty-four of our descendants met in Goliad on Saturday 27,2004 to form a historical society for the Angel. He said, officers were elected for the following positions:

He also said, any descendant who is interested on being on any of the above positions, to please get in touch with him. Our family Photographer and Webmaster Manuel & Belinda Munoz will be announcing at a later date the opening of the AOGDHP website. If you have any pictures, film clips or anything, please send it to them. Also, our Membership Chairpersons E.J. Longoria, Gilbert Alvarez and Humberto Alvarez Jr. are presently working on a membership application which will be forth coming.

We will have our second meeting at the Pear Tree Inn, 143 North East Loop 410 in San Antonio, TX on Saturday May 15^th, 2004 at 1:30 PM. There will be no luncheon provided at this meeting. "It was an honor and privilege for me to have unveiled the Angel. When I was unveiling her, I felt that all of our descendants were helping me. Words cannot describe my feelings at that moment but I will never forget March 28, 2004."

There was about 70 plus descendants at the unveiling. It was a privilege to have Marina and Armenia Alvarez 4th Generation Honorary Descendant present at the unveiling. Joe Hernandez Sr. 5th Generation Honorary Descendant and his son Joe Jr. 6th Direct Descendant traveled th farthest in the United States; they came from California. Gemma A. Ibrahim, 6th Direct Descendant came the farthest in the world; she came from Kuwait.

The Angel was very well represented by her descendants. We should all be very proud of her humanitarian actions and all of the lives she saved. It is our duty as parents, grandparents and great-grandparents to educate our children of our descendant.
